L’Italie baroque
Baroque Italy and its innovative forms, both in architecture and in music, place contrast and expressiveness at the heart of harmony. The style becomes erudite and sophisticated through rich ornamentation, testing instrumental possibilities as well as the virtuosity of performers.
The program will feature Vivaldi’s Lute Concerto in D major (RV 93), Marcello’s Oboe Concerto in D minor (S.Z799), Tartini’s Concerto for Trumpet and Strings (D.53), and Vivaldi’s celebrated Gloria in D major (RV 589).
